Police in Vienna raided two alleged bunker apartments and seized around 60 kilograms of marijuana and 3.6 kilograms of cocaine. The operation took place on 22 September 2026, when officers stopped and temporarily arrested five suspected drug dealers during a targeted crackdown on drug crime by the Einsatzgruppe zur Bekämpfung der Straßenkriminalität (EGS). During identity checks and searches of the suspects, officers found cash and documents linked to the alleged dealing. Two fake identity cards were seized along with 1,500 euros in cash split into scene-typical small notes. The arrests came after searches at addresses in Vienna’s 17th and 19th districts. The five men, aged 25, 29, 33 and 39, were initially identified at the scene. The 38-year-old was also among those detained. All five were reported under the Austrian Suchtmittelgesetz, with prosecutors ordering they be taken into custody at a justice facility. The application for remand detention was set to be filed for all five suspects.
