A 42-year-old was arrested in Voula after police found a cannabis plantation growing inside his home. Officers from the Sub-Directorate for Narcotics and the unit described in the case as the “Greek FBI” carried out the operation on Wednesday afternoon, 21/10. The investigation pointed to the man allegedly cultivating cannabis at the residence and distributing it in the southern suburbs. Police said he had been active in Voula and Glyfada for at least ten days before the arrest, with an alleged sales price set at 10 euros per gram. Inside the home, officers seized five cannabis plants in pots, each about 30 to 40 centimeters tall. They also found six nylon packages containing raw cannabis, with a total gross weight of 210 grams. The cannabis was said to have been collected from the plants and intended for further distribution. Authorities also seized equipment used to support the grow. It included 13 plastic pots, four LED lamps, a ventilation system, a fan, drip irrigation, an electronic thermometer, a timer, an acidity meter and fertilizers. Police also took a mobile phone for examination. The cannabis seeds found will be checked by the competent service of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food. The man had been previously involved with the authorities in March 2021, when he was charged for a violation of the arms legislation after police found three magazines for a military rifle and a folding metal bar. The case is currently at the investigation stage following the arrest, with the seized phone and seeds pending further examination.
