Police arrested a wanted man in a hotel in Mosciano Sant’Angelo, after finding documents that turned out to be falsified. The arrest followed an alert to the Teramo Mobile Squad that helped locate him. Investigators say the man had a passport issued to someone else, a Greek citizen who had reported it stolen. He also gave false generalities and was found with false identification documents. The police tracked him to the hotel thanks to the tip sent from the operations room. Once his identity was established, officers moved to the next step, searching his car. During the car search, the squad seized a Jammer, a device used to disturb wireless signals. Depending on the model, a jammer can interfere with alarms, key fobs, cellular networks and radio communications. After further identification checks, police confirmed he was wanted for association aimed at drug trafficking. The case also linked him to a sentence of 2 years and 4 months in prison for drug dealing. At the end of the formalities, the man was taken to custody. An “avviso orale aggravato” was also served on him, an order already issued by the prosecutor of the L’Aquila territory. The latest status is that the suspect has been taken to prison while the case proceeds.
