Police arrest woman for suspected methadone sales in Lviv
Allegedly sold to drug users, netting over 20,000 hryvnia and facing up to 10 years.
Police in Lviv arrested a woman suspected of systematically selling methadone to drug-dependent buyers.
Investigators say she bought the methadone, stored it at her home, and sold it “from hand to hand” during personal meetings. Prosecutors documented several sales episodes, during which she received more than 20,000 hryvnia.
During searches at her residence, law enforcement seized electronic scales, packaging materials, and other items of evidence. The materials were sent for expert examination.
The woman was detained under Article 208 of Ukraine’s Criminal Procedure Code, and she was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 307 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, which concerns the sale of narcotic drugs. If her guilt is proven, she faces six to ten years in prison with confiscation of property.
The case is at the investigation stage.
