National Crime Agency explains how to contact it for serious crime reports
The NCA provides specific routes for Suspicious Activity Reports and media enquiries.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) has published guidance on how to contact it, including options for reporting serious and organised crime.
The NCA’s contact form includes several selectable purposes, such as officer verification, return of seized property, providing information on serious and organised crime, whistleblowing, complaints, media enquiries, and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
The agency also advises people on what to do in urgent situations. It says that in an emergency, callers should use 999. If there is immediate danger or a crime is currently in progress, the NCA urges people to phone their local police using 999.
For people who have been a victim of crime and are not in immediate danger, the NCA directs them to contact local police through the non-emergency number 101. It also notes that victims may consider reporting the incident at their local police station or through their local police’s online reporting function.
The information is intended to help members of the public choose the correct contact route depending on the seriousness and urgency of what they need to report.
